Week 4 – Whooooooo are you? Who Who? Who Who? Interviewing someone!

Ok, it’s very sad that I am dating myself with that song title but I had to do it.

Sechelt

Somehow, Sechelt is a week behind Gibsons, but that’s ok.  We will catch up in 2 weeks.
This week Sechelt welcomed TWO NEW STUDENTS, Sara and Josh!  And folks, these two jumped RIGHT into the mix, volunteering to speak immediately AND Sara is going to give a presentation next week while Josh wants to MC!  You never know what you’re going to get.  lol

We had a good exercise this week of learning how to properly shake hands while looking people in the eye, AND some great improv games that got us thinking faster and faster!

Hi, my name is Daphne and I like your shirt.

Sisters Brook and Hazel gave their first speeches of the year, as different as the sisters themselves!

Daphne did a great job as our Table Topics Curator and Meg’s word of the day was “culture” which was used quite a few times!

Next week’s roster:

MC   Josh

Table Topics Curator   Rathlin

Word of the Day    Coen

Class Clown  Nigel

Quizzer    Brook

Timer   Meg

Presentations:   Coen,  Sara,  Daphne!!!

Improv Game:  Hazel

Please make sure you are prepped for your role!

Gibsons

In Gibsons, we continue to luxuriate in our awesome new digs at the Gibsons Garden Hotel.  What a difference a great space makes in a class!!!

This week the students tried interviewing each other as an exercise in listening.  They interviewed each other and then had to tell us what they had learned!  We all learned that it is HARD to remember a lot of FACTS so sometimes asking for a STORY from someone still tells you a lot about them but is way easier to remember.

Jonah interviews Brandalyn

Lucy’s first gig as MC took her to a new level of openness in the class and she really appeared to enjoy running the show!  Super impressed!

Maria’s Table Topics questions were really thoughtful and Georgia’s Word of the Day had us all bumfuzzled!

Three great presentations from 3 very different people- Jonah our resident dinosaur enthusiast and artist, Liina our horse-riding gymnast and Bella, who is Lucille Ball reincarnated!

Next week’s roster:

MC: Madeline!  (way to step up!)

Table Topics Curator: Liina

Word of the Day: Brandalyn

Class Clown: Max  (or MA as we sometimes call him since the ‘x’ is faulty on my laptop!)

Quizzer: Oskar

Timer:  Georgia

Presentations:  LUCY and MARIA!

Improv Leader: Bella
